MMT

All right, this isn’t actually a book. It is more like a pamphlet. It has been sitting in my to-read pile since… 2011. Wow.
It came in the swag bag at CFSW 2011 in Toronto. Yesterday I noticed it and actually read it.

It is pretty neat! It is a little tour of Coach House Press, showing all of their printing tools at varying levels of ‘vintage’, along with a few personal comments. (Yes, that DOES look like a comfy chair!)

Buying this issue of Arc was a mistake, though certainly not one I regret. When I saw them on the table at VERSeFest, I assumed it was the newest issue (which would have been #82 but was not out yet). So I bought it.

Turns out it was #80. Well, lucky me, I already had issues #81 and #79, but did not pick up #80. I am glad I got it! There is great stuff in here, like Doyali Islam’s poem of the year, and (surprise!) a poem by Matt Peake!

Arc is always great and this issue was no exception.

Four of the last five books I have read have a rob mclennan connection. I may never have heard of Hawkins if it wasn’t for rob, and I am so glad I did. Hawkins was the first person ever inducted into he VERSeOttawa Hall of Honour and he did a great reading that night.

This book is a collection of poems from throughout his career and it is well worth a read. My favourite were the King Kong poems, though they were not the only stand-outs.

Great book. I am glad I have it.
