Spoken WordRevolutionRedux

A book of spoken word poetry seems like a contradiction in terms… and it is. A GOOD book of spoken word poetry shows that even if meant to be performed, strong poetry still stands on its own not eh page, and by that standard, this is certainly a good book of spoken word poetry. There is some great stuff in here (Gregory Corso stands out), mixed in with some editorializing that is hit and miss. (Including a strange little scrap between Jack Foley and Paula Friedrich that comes across more like a social media spat than criticism.
Still, this book was a lot better than its packaging would have led me to believe.

Thanks to Pearl Pirie who gave it to me.
